Central Tax processes property taxes and E-Payment transactions with credit and debit cards while handling high-volume transactions of various origins (Internet, POS, etc). The company’s mission is to centralize the processing of these transactions in order to become an important player in the E-Payment processing and property taxes management in Canada. In 2008, Central Tax became the official supplier of the Quebec Ministry of Finance, processing credit and debit card transactions from multiple ministries and organizations throughout the Quebec Government. Currently, Central Tax processes several million transactions a year.
The Challenge
As a payment processor with high transaction volumes, Central Tax sought a Tier 1 Payment Card Industry (PCI) managed hosting provider who could help protect their client’s private data 24x7. Finding a partner that could promptly deliver a robust and secure infrastructure was critical. They also needed a provider who was reliable, flexible and had in-depth knowledge and expertise in PCI security issues. After careful consideration, Central Tax turned to Fusepoint to support their current and future hosting needs.
The Approach
The Central Tax infrastructure was designed to be secure, scalable and robust for maximum uptime, taking advantage of Fusepoint’s multiple data centre capabilities in Canada. Under the six-year contract, Fusepoint guarantees 99.99% availability for a fully managed solution including 8 servers, redundant bandwidth, data back-up, VPN, firewall security, network intrusion detection, operating systems and database management.
Results
Following an implementation that was on time and on budget, it was business as usual at Central Tax. Whether the information comes through constituents, financial institutions, municipalities or real estate legal professionals, their customer database is secure and well protected. By taking advantage of Fusepoint’s Tier 1 PCI compliance, Central Tax has saved time and money in fast-tracking their own PCI compliance process and can now focus on further ways to enhance their tax management business. |
