Intrusion Detection Services (IDS)

Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) is a network-based security system that detects vulnerabilities and intrusions on Internet traffic destined for Fusepoint's data centre network. Based on pattern-recognition technology, NIDS monitors traffic for attacks such as exploits, denial-of-service attempts, reconnaissance and misuse, and is continuously updated to stay ahead of threats. If potentially malicious behaviour is detected, Fusepoint's Security Team immediately investigates and responds to the event.

Host-Based Intrusion Detection System (HIDS) provides an added layer of security with server-level intrusion detection for your Colocated or Fusepoint-managed servers before any damage is done. HIDS consists of a central management server connected to software agents installed on each protected server. The agents report typical server activities which are developed into an acceptable security policy to provide host intrusion prevention, malicious code protection, operating system integrity and audit log consolidation. In addition, your servers are protected from port scans, buffer overflows, Trojan Horses, malformed packets and e-mail worms. If suspicious activity is detected, Fusepoint's Security Team is alerted and follows procedures to investigate the threat.
